The Patty Melt Dog Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ea. Hot Dog Pretzel Bun, Split Top, Salted
- 1 ea. Ball Park® Beef Hot Dog , Bacon-Wrapped (Sub-Recipe)
- 2 oz. Shoestring French Fries
- 1 oz. Cheese Sauce, Prepared (Commercially Available)
- 1 oz. Caramelized Onions, Prepared (Commercially Available)
- 1 oz. Thousand Island Dressing, Prepared (Commercially Available)
A Ball Park® Beef Hot Dog wrapped in Wright® Brand Naturally Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon is nestled inside a warm, salted pretzel bun and loaded with crispy shoestring fries, golden cheese sauce and sweet caramelized onions. Finished with a drizzle of tangy Thousand Island dressing, this indulgent creation brings bold Ball Park® brand flavor with every bite.
Directions
- Cook bacon-wrapped Ball Park® Beef Hot Dog to preferred method.
- Place split top pretzel bun onto a clean work surface.
- Place prepared bacon-wrapped hot dog into split top bun.
- Top hot dog with prepared shoestring French fries.
- Top the fries with cheese sauce and caramelized onions.
- Drizzle the entire bacon-wrapped hot dog with prepared Thousand Island dressing.
- Serve as needed.
Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dog
Ingredients
- 1 ea. Ball Park® Beef Hot Dogs, 4:1
- 1 ea. Wright® Brand Naturally Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon, Bulk, 15 Lbs, 10-14 Slices Per Pound, Gas Flushed
Directions
- Thaw frozen hot dog in the refrigerator for 72 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 35-40°F.
- Bacon Wrap: Take one strip of bacon and start wrapping it around the hot dog from one end to the other. Ensure the bacon overlaps slightly to cover the entire hot dog.
- If necessary, use toothpicks to secure the bacon at each end of the hot dog.
- Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the bacon-wrapped hot dog on the grill. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. Cook until the bacon is crispy and the hot dog is heated through.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bacon-wrapped hot dog on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the hot dog is heated through.
- Pan Frying: Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Place the bacon-wrapped hot dog in the pan. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the hot dog is heated through.
