Blue Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Heavy Cream
  • 4 oz. Gorgonzola Blue Cheese, Crumbled
  • 2 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 oz.. Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp. Dijon Mustard, Prepared
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. Kosher Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Fresh Parsley, Chopped

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter is melted, add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux. This will help thicken the sauce.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the crumbled blue cheese to the saucepan. Stir until the cheese is melted and well incorporated into the sauce.
  5. Add the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Remove saucepan from heat and allow sauce cool slightly before serving. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
  8. Gently fold in chopped parsley.
  9. Serve as needed.
